IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary L.
Stovall
December 17, 1944 – September 11, 2025
Mary L. Stovall, age 80, of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on September 11, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1944, in Port Huron, Michigan, to Charles and Marie Lang.
A funeral service will be held on September 18 at Rest Haven Memorial located at 3900 Willamette Street, Eugene, OR beginning at 3 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pete Moore Hospice House are kindly requested.
She was a Secretary in the Army where she won a marksmanship award. After her retirement from the armed services she worked in the University of Oregon library for 17 years before retiring in 1998.
Mary lived a life full of joy, generosity, and adventure. She especially loved to travel, with road trips taking her all over the country always making the ride memorable with her quick wit and fun-loving spirit. Her sense of humor brought laughter to every journey and comfort to every conversation.
She was the kind of person you could always count on, the first to call in any situation, whether to offer advice, support, or a perfectly timed catchphrase. Her giving nature extended beyond her family to include many charitable organizations she supported throughout her life.
Mary found joy in the simple pleasures: playing bingo, rolling dice in Bunco, or trying her luck at the casino — especially when she could share those moments with friends and loved ones.
Above all, Mary cherished her family. She shared many happy years with her beloved husband, Charles Stovall, who she married in 1977. She is survived by her daughter, Anna Currah (Jeff), and granddaughter, Amber Tierney (David), as well as siblings Richard Lang, Alice Gordon (Charlie), Patricia Lang, John Lang. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, and her siblings Beverly Tucker, Margaret Lang, and James Lang.
