Lois Kathryn Hubbard passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in San Diego at the age of 95. Lois was born in Newton, Kansas, to Walter and Pearl Schmidt, the first of two children. Her family later moved to Eugene, Oregon, where she attended Eugene High School and graduated with the Class of 1948. 

In September 1950, Lois married the love of her life, Delbert Hubbard, also of Eugene. Shortly after their marriage, Del was drafted into the U.S. Army, and together they were stationed at various locations across the United States from 1950 to 1953. Following his military service, they returned to Eugene to build their life and family. 

Lois became a successful and respected interior designer, known for her creativity, eye for detail, and ability to make every house feel like a home. Del enjoyed a long career in the insurance business for 28 years. During their years in Eugene, Lois and Del embraced the many activities the area offered, especially snow skiing and golf. They were active members of the Eugene Country Club and cherished the friendships and memories made there. 

In 1982, Lois and Del relocated to San Diego, where Lois continued her interior design career for another 13 years. They later moved to Palm Desert, California, becoming members of Shadow Mountain Country Club, where they enjoyed golf, community, and the beauty of the desert.

Lois is survived by her sister, Sandra McKinney of Palm Desert, California; her eldest son, Brad Hubbard of San Diego; her son and daughter in-law, Bruce and Carol Hubbard of San Diego; and her beloved granddaughter, Tiffany Marie Lankovsky of Meridian, Idaho. 

Lois will be remembered for her warmth, grace, creativity, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, beautiful homes, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed. 

A celebration of life will be held in the San Diego area. A service at Rest-Haven Memorial Park is planned for June 18, 2026, at 2:00pm located at 3900 Willamette Street, Eugene, Oregon 97405.
