Linda Jean
Schor
January 19, 1956 – April 30, 2026
Linda Jean (Beyer) Schor passed away April 30, 2026, in Eugene after a private and courageous battle with cancer. Loved dearly and deeply by her family and friends, she was 70 years old.
Linda was born at Sacred Heart Hospital to Ethel and Ray Beyer, joining older sister Marsha at the family’s home in Eugene. She graduated from South Eugene High School and the University of Oregon. While at U. of O., she studied health sciences and spent her sophomore year at the University of South Florida as an exchange student and joined the Tri Delta sorority. It was during her time at U. of O. that she first met Timothy Schor, her partner in life and love.
After college, she moved to Seattle and worked as a social worker and for Thousand Trails RV resorts. It was in Seattle that she married Tim in 1985. Both wanted to start a family, and they were united in their desire to adopt a child. Tim’s job as a financial planner took them to Portland, where son Michael was born. Their next move, in 1987, was to Eugene, where daughter Krista was later born—like her mother--at Sacred Heart Hospital. In 2001, Linda and Tim traveled to Ukraine to adopt their youngest child, Alex, and became a family of five.
Linda was passionate about her faith, family and friends. A devout Christian, she loved to talk about religion and never shied away from a spirited debate. Motherhood was her calling, and she spent countless hours ferrying Michael, Krista and Alex to games and school activities, her favorite Starbucks brew in hand. She was a devoted daughter, caring for both of her parents until the end of their lives. And there was no better friend—she had a circle of life-long and new friends who depended on her wisdom, kindness and sense of humor to enrich their lives. They also admired how she made entertaining look easy, pulling together hors d’oeuvres or brunch at a moment’s notice.
She loved family vacations, especially spring break road trips to Laguna Beach. She and Tim took a memorable trip to Israel where she explored the roots of her faith. In recent years, Linda and Tim split time between Eugene and Scottsdale, AZ, where they often hosted family and friends. Following her cancer diagnosis a year and a half ago, she and Tim took a Mediterranean cruise and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows and a family celebration. She also spent every minute she could with her beloved grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, welcoming her newest grandchild in January.
Linda is survived by her husband Tim, sister Marsha (Richard Lind), sons Michael (Kimmy) and Alex, daughter Krista (Ryan Downer), granddaughters Avery Schor and Lilly Downer, grandsons Jackson and Landon Schor, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 9, at University Fellowship Church (1855 Cal Young Rd., Eugene, OR). A public viewing will precede the ceremony from 9:15 to 9:45am. Rest-Haven Memorial Park and Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Linda believed that the path to salvation is a heart that is open to the Lord. She asks that you read John 3:16 in her memory.
