Judy Gazley passed away on March 1, 2026, of pancreatic cancer in Eugene, OR. She was born in Pasadena, CA on February 3, 1942, to Samuel Isaacs and Rita Isaacs (Beckerman). After marrying and having her children, Judy returned to school and spent 18 years pursuing her college education one or two classes at a time, working full time, and raising her children as a single mother. She studied at Long Beach City College and California State College Long Beach, then graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s in engineering. She initially worked in engineering and then switched to computer and communications sup port in the software, health, and legal fields. One of her favorite positions was as a college math instructor. She was also a long-term volunteer at Multnomah County Library, All Classical Radio, and Eugene Public Library. After retirement she engaged in cross-stitching, knitting, baking, and daily walks. She moved from Southern CA to Portland in 1978, where she met her husband, Eric. After re tirement they continued to live in Portland, and part-time at their coast house in Neahkahnie, before moving to Eugene in 2020. Judy had an outgoing friendly personality and made friends easily wherever she learned, worked, volunteered, and walked. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Berel Isaacs. Judy is survived by her husband Eric Gazley of Eugene, sister Marlene Downie of Valen cia CA, daughter Suzanne Darden of Springfield MO, sons Robert Hughes (Susan) of Gresham OR, Paul Hughes (Stephanie) of Beaverton OR, and Harold Hughes (Laura) of Seymour MO, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She will be interred at Resthaven Memorial Park in Eugene. There is no service planned at this time.
