IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deanna May
(Erickson)Marr
April 11, 1941 – January 22, 2025
Deanna (Erickson) Marr, loving wife, moth er, grandmother, and daughter, was born on April of 1941. She was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon where she lived her entire life. She was the youngest of eight children born to Erick Alexander Erickson and Elvie Leonna (Nelson) Erickson. As the youngest of her siblings, she was always expected to babysit for her numerous nieces and nephews. By doing so, she developed a life-long affinity for kids.
Deanna lived in, and attended school in Lowell, OR, graduating from Lowell High School as the valedictorian in 1959. In 1964 she married Keith Marr and two girls were born to this union, Christin and Karen. This marriage lasted over 60 years until her death. Deanna worked for many years, most notably in the banking industry. After about 25 years, she retired from U.S. Bank. Being bored with retirement, she went back to work for a local dentist as the office manager, working there for about another 15 years.
Her idea of a good time was spending time with family and the many spring trips to Death Valley National Park. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to a casino, oftentimes with her “gambling buddy”, Judy. Deanna was preceded in death by one of her daughters, Karen, her parents, and all her siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Christin; son-in-law, Steven; and grandchildren, Tarn and Sorelle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial donations could be made to Greenhill Humane Society or to the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at Brighton Hospice for their loving and tender care of Deanna during the recent weeks.
There will be a visitation taking place for Deanna on February 7th from 11:00am to 1:00pm, fol lowed by a 2:00pm funeral service at Rest-Haven Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene on S. Willamette Street
