Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Loyal Possehl and Imogene Spriggs, her cherished sister, Ruth Brownlee, and her dear grandmother, Maude Edwards. She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Massey, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage, rooted in their shared faith and love for their family. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Heather Oman and Austin Massey, who blessed them with four adored grandchildren: Jackson, Carter, Ellie, and Xander. Carol also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Helene Modlich and Jeanna Brownlee.
A graduate of Franklin High School in Seattle, Carol pursued her passion for education at Western Washington State College, earning her degree in 1971. Her humility, generosity, and kindness endeared her to many, marking her as a loyal friend and a devoted family member.
A memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will be held on October 11, 2026, at 3:00 pm at University Fellowship, located at 1855 Cal Young Rd, Eugene, OR.
